The University of Melbourne is investigating the effects of therapeutic singing groups for community dwelling people living with dementia and their family caregivers. Carers Australia has identified a serious shortage of respite accommodation in aged care homes. In a media release dated 4 February 2018, Carers Australia CEO Ara Cresswell reports that a national survey shows an increasing difficulty for carers to find respite care when they need a break from the demands of providing around the clock care, or even to deal with their own health or other family issues.Read more
